Top-ranked basketball teams in 4A remain in Region 11

MILLVILLE – The highest ranked girls and boys basketball teams in 4A remain in Region 11, with Sky View retaining the top spot for boys and Ridgeline claiming the top ranking for girls in the latest RPI rankings released by the Utah High School Activities Association. The Riverhawks (17-0, 5-0) are still the only team among all 4A teams to remain undefeated. The other thing that remains the same, in fact, are all the rankings for Region 11 girls basketball teams from the previous week. There was some slight movement in the boys rankings among Region 11 teams with Green Canyon dropping one spot and Bear River dropping three.

Region 11 teams have somewhat of a rest week as they will only play one game as the schedule resets. Each team has gone through the region schedule and now they will play everyone in the region again, just at the alternate venue from each team’s first meeting.

Box Elder Bees

The Box Elder Bees boys team remains as the 7th ranked team in 5A RPI with an overall record of 11-5. Their girls team dropped one spot in the 5A standings to #17 after losing two games last week. Their overall record is now 7-10.

Rich Rebels

The Rich Rebels girls team moved up to the #2 ranking in 1A after picking up two wins last week. Their overall record is now 12-3. The Rebels’ boys team remains as the #8 team in 1A with a 9-8 overall record.

Idaho South East Conferences

In the 4A South East Conference, the Preston boys basketball team is 1-1 in conference play with an overall record of 14-5. They are the #4 team in 4A in the latest Power Rankings. Their girls team is 0-4 in conference play with an overall record of 2-16. They are the #23 team in 4A in the latest Power Rankings for girls basketball.

In the 2A South East Conference for boys basketball, the Bear Lake Bears have a perfect 4-0 record in conference play with a 15-2 overall record. That puts them #6 in the latest Power Rankings for 2A boys basketball. West Side is 3-2 in conference play and 8-9 overall, ranking them 17th. Malad is 0-5 in conference play, 3-14 overall, ranking them 21st in the 2A Power Rankings.

For girls basketball, West Side has the higher placement in the 2A Power Rankings at #5 with an overall record of 13-6. But their 4-4 conference record puts the Pirates behind Malad who has a 5-3 conference record. The Dragons’ overall record is 11-10 and they are ranked #10. Bear Lake is ranked #24 with a 2-6 conference record and 5-16 record overall.
