LOGAN – Isaiah Jones was recently named the new senior director for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at Utah State University.
A USU graduate and former Aggie student-athlete, he served the last four years as the Parent & Family Coordinator for student orientation on campus.
He feels he is in a unique position to help create the type of environment where those coming to USU for the first time can thrive, like his parents did when they met at USU in the 1980s.
“That’s the thing that excites me the most about this job,” Jones says. “I love USU and I think over time it will be important to identify what are some ways we can help make and create and facilitate the Aggie family, help it to grow to be what it is and what it is supposed to be. And share it with different communities around the country, but even in the state of Utah.”
When USU Vice President for DEI Dr. Jane Irungu announced his appointment she said Isaiah will spearhead the coordination of DEI signature events including recent activities related to Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the upcoming Juneteenth celebration.
This stuff doesn’t fix racism, it creates it.
That’s the whole point: divide and conquer. Get groups of people fighting amongst each other and no one pays the slightest bit of attention to who and what the real enemy is doing. Racism, sexism, and all other isms are created and perpetuated by the media who serve as the propaganda arm to those who are trying like hell to destroy our country and everything it stands for.
Isaiah is a former neighbor and is a great man. He will do well in this position.
