Signing ceremony set for One Utah Collaborative on Tuesday

SALT LAKE CITY – Gov. Spencer Cox will host community leaders and stakeholders at a signing event to celebrate the One Utah Collaborative on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The event will honor their collective commitment to statewide goals meant to make Utah the national leader in innovative and affordable healthcare.

The One Utah Collaborative is a community-owned non-profit launched by Cox in September of 2021 to serve as a lever to transform health care in Utah.

The signing ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on the south steps of the Utah Capitol building.

Since March, the Collaborative’s organizing committee has focused on gather community input on how they should organize and the problems that need to be solved, according to Ryan Morley, a partner in SpringTide Ventures and co-chair of the Collaborative.

“We were really trying to be as thoughtful as we can listening to how the collaborative needs to be formed to be able to deliver the resources needed for the community and to achieve the goals of the collaborative,” Morley said.

Morley said that the Collaborative has received funding from the state and many other community organizations around the state to employ staff and affect needed changes.

At the signing event, Cox will announce the new leadership of the One Utah Collaborative; its goals, which have been pledged to by stakeholders across the state; and the organization’s commitments from Medicaid.

Attendees at the signing event will include Chief innovation Officer Rich Sauders; Mikelle Moore, representing Intermountain Healthcare; Josh Soffe, of Flying J Management; and Dr. Michael Good, of the University of Utah.

Also in attendance will be the still to be announced executive director and board of directors of the One Utah Collaborative; health care community leaders; and other statewide stakeholders.
