LOGN – Tuesday is primary election day in Utah and a reminder, if you did not postmark your ballot, drop it off in person on Tuesday at a drop box, located at city office buildings throughout Cache Valley and throughout the state. As a last resort, you can take it to the county clerk’s office in person.

Candidate for U.S. Senate for Utah, Ally Isom, said she’s been pushing right to the very end making hundreds of calls to Republican voters statewide.

On KVNU’s For the People program on Monday, she listed some of the top issues with voters.

“It’s because I’ve walked in more than 125 local Utah communities that I feel like I have a good sense of what’s top-of-mind and in the hearts of everyday Utahns. They’re really coalescing around the economy first and foremost, they’re concerned about inflation, they’re concerned about our national debt, and what this looks like in the next few years for their families.

“I very much support kitchen-table economics in the way we examine public policy and national policy. They’re also talking about water and about energy,” she explained.

Isom said she was disappointed about incumbent Senator Mike Lee’s no-show at a recent debate.

“We were disappointed when we had the broadcast debate with the Utah Debate Commission, and there was a lovely empty podium there. I find that alarming and troubling because I think the senator should be accountable, he didn’t face a Republican challenger last time, and this was his opportunity to step up and to account for his record to the state of Utah.”

Isom said when he has time to write six books but can only get four bills across the finish line, something is out of balance. You can learn more about Isom’s campaign at allyforutah.com.

Lee is also being challenged by Becky Edwards.
