Construction at Logan Regional Hospital continues to 2025

LOGAN – Work is underway on a project at Logan Regional Hospital, continuing until early 2025, that will include construction of a 110,000-square-foot, four-story tower on the northeast corner of the campus and the demolition of two existing towers to create a new front entrance to the hospital.

Emillio Rodriguez is the hospital’s communication director.

“The first floor is going to house our cafe, our kitchen, our education center, some cardiology services and imaging services,” Rodriguez said. “On the second floor it will be our intensive care unit, our behavioral unit, and our transitional care unit.

“Then on the third floor will be our medical, surgical and pediatric nursing units and then on the fourth floor we are  looking to create space for some business offices.”

Rodriguez said a primary objective from the start has been to create a more visible entrance and drop-off zone into hospital services.

“The way our hospital is set up right now, it’s difficult to see the front entrance,” Rodriguez added. “So, we’ve heard the community, and our patients, so we’re making sure we address that issue when we knock down the existing towers because we’re going to build this really beautiful main entrance that will be easier to access for our patients and it will bring a really nice look to the hospital.”

He said the new project allows for re-location of in-patient services to one area of the campus.

During construction patients are encouraged to enter the hospital from 400 East and park close to the current main entrance or to access the south Budge Clinic entrance.
