LOGAN – The NBA draft took place in Brooklyn, New York Thursday night. While dozens of players heard their names called at the podium in front of a national audience, Justin Bean’s name was not one of them. He did, however, get an invitation to play for an NBA team as soon as the draft concluded.

According to Priority Sports, the agency who represents Bean, the former Aggie has signed on as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Moments later Bean took to Twitter to express his own excitement.

Excited and grateful for the opportunity! Let’s get to work.”

The third team Academic All-American has reportedly signed what is referred to as an Exhibit 10 contract with the Clippers, which is essentially a guaranteed invitation to the team’s training camp. However, it gives the team flexibility to convert the contract to a two-way deal before the start of the season if they so choose. Otherwise, the deal converts into a non-guaranteed minimum salary.

The first chance for Aggie fans to see the 6’7″ Bean in a Clippers uniform will be while the team is in Las Vegas for the NBA Summer League. The Clippers’ game and television schedule includes:

Saturday, July 9: at Memphis Grizzlies (7:30 PM MDT) — NBA TV
Tuesday, July 12: vs Los Angeles Lakers (9:00 PM MDT) — NBA TV
Wednesday, July 13: vs Denver Nuggets (8:00 PM MDT) — NBA TV
Friday, July 15: at Utah Jazz (3:00 PM MDT) — ESPN2

The native of Moore, Oklahoma finished his Aggie career first overall in career games with 10 or more rebounds (57), second overall in career rebounds (1,027), second in career double-doubles (46), fifth in career steals (161), and tied for eighth in career games played (126). Not only was Bean named as an Academic All-American, but was also honored as Academic all-Mountain West in 2019, 2020, and 2021.
