PRESTON – For the 10th year the Franklin County Medical Center’s (FCMC) Developmental Disability Agency is hosting its Community Resource Fair Thursday at Preston High School from 5-7 p.m.

Rhonda Phillips, Disability Agency director, says parents can talk to representatives of agencies who could have an impact on their child’s life.

“We’ve got Jump the Moon coming which does art with people with disabilities,” Phillips explains. “And schools, the Special Ed Director from the Franklin County School District will be there to answer questions about (Individualized Education Programs), plus Head Start.”

She says two attorneys will talk about wills, estate planning and Able Accounts, which help adults with disabilities manage money. She says there will be help for all kinds of disabilities.

“Also we’ll have an occupational therapist there, a speech therapist, vocational rehabilitation for job training,” she adds. “We’ll have a representative from mental health. Common Ground will be there from the library. Idaho Health and Welfare will be coming from Pocatello to answer questions about getting on Idaho Medicaid Services.”

The Community Resource Fair is Thursday, April 21, from 5-7 p.m. at the Preston High School cafeteria. For more details about the event, and the services being offered, visit www.fcmc.org/services/developmental-disabilities-agency/.
