LOGAN — As many people head into the mountains for one last camping trip over the Labor Day holiday weekend, officials are reminding everyone that Tony Grove Lake remains closed. The road to the popular recreation site is being redone and will remain shut down until Oct. 1.

According to a social media post from the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, contractors are using heavy equipment to complete the Tony Grove Pavement Preservation Project. Entire sections of pavement have been removed and replaced, encroaching brush has been cut back from the road side, and a new bridge has been installed for access to the Tony Grove Back Country Trailhead.

The project started earlier this spring and kept the road to the lake closed until July.

During the next month, Tony Grove Lake is only accessible to hikers and backpackers.
