Logan City officials announce Labor Day closures

Logan's Board of Canvassers have reported the official results of the Nov. 2 municipal general election.

LOGAN – Officials here have announced a schedule of closed Logan City services and facilities for the Labor Day holiday.

All Logan City offices – including the Landfill, Library and Community Recreation Center — will be closed on Monday, Sept. 6.

“Residential garbage, recycling and green waste will not be collected that day,” according to Logan Public Works spokesperson Emily Morgan Malik.

The majority of Monday and Tuesday trash and recycling routes will be collected on Tuesday, Sept. 7, with the remaining routes being collected during the following week.

Because the normal schedules for collection routes may not be followed that day, Malik advises residents to have their trash and/or recycling containers at the curb not later than 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

Commercial garbage and recycling collection will be unchanged on Labor Day, however.

The Logan Library’s drive-up book drops will be closed from 2 p.m. on Saturday through 8 a.m. Tuesday. But the walk-up book drop near the library’s entrance will remain open through the upcoming weekend.

Malik added that the Logan River Golf Course and the Logan Aquatic Center will be open during regular operating hours on Labor Day.

For additional information about the landfill or trash collection, residents are advised to call 435-716-9755.

For information about golf course operations, residents are advised to call 435-750-0123.

For general information about holiday closures, residents can call 435-716-9000.
