SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Sen. Mitt Romney said Friday that politicians attacking the vote by mail system are threatening global democracy but stopped short of criticizing President Donald Trump, who has been openly against an expected surge of mail-in ballots.

The United States must stand as an example to more fragile democratic nations to show that elections can be held in a free and fair manner, Romney said. He urged the federal government to make every effort to ensure that people are able to vote in the general election this November.

“That’s more important even than the outcome of the vote,” he said at a virtual event hosted by the conservative Utah-based Sutherland Institute. “We have got to preserve the principle of democracy or the trend we’re on is going to continue to get worse.”

Trump has suggested that increased mail-in voting because of the coronavirus pandemic could result in fraud and cost him reelection. This week he acknowledged that he’s starving the U.S. Postal Service of money to make it harder to process the expected flood of ballots from voters who are seeking to avoid polling places.

Romney said he has seen no evidence that voting by mail has led to fraud and that this voting method may be even more secure than electronic voting because it’s less likely to invite hacking interference by foreign entities. He said he would support providing additional funds to states to strengthen their voting systems.

The Republican lawmaker also discussed what he called the threat of an emerging Chinese economy and military that he says has been able to expand with virtually no pushback.

Romney said the U.S. will need to work together with other free nations to “stop China’s predation.”

He applauded the Trump administration for being tough on China. But Romney said that sticking to a nationalist “America First” approach will further alienate the U.S. from its allies and push them to support China’s interests instead.

“We’re pulling out of the world,” Romney said. “As America retreats and China pushes forward, why the nations of the world will line up behind China.”

It is time to remove Romney from the Republican Party. He is however more than welcome to join up with the Democrats. It was neat to See President Trump work the Peace deal with the Middle East yesterday. I am hopeful the Durham report will bring forth more members of the plot to illegally remove and spy on President Trump. It was quite amazing to see the FBI Lawyer plead guilty to lying today on the FISA report and no news picked it up. Rather we get articles like this one. Due to his marching with BLM (who recently burned bibles), and voting for impeachment, well, history will not judge Romeny Kindly he chose as they say poorly. Very poorly. Sad….

I used to respect Mitt Romney. I thought he was an honest person who had the best interest of the American People. But now I wonder if he’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Does he not read the research and the problems with mass mail-in voting. The democrats have been “out to get Trump” since day one. If Romney can’t see past his ego long enough to recognize that, then he needs to get rid of the R after his name. Maybe the Democrats have paid him to lie–it wouldn’t be the first time this sort of thing has happened. DO YOUR RESEARCH MR. ROMNEY!!!
This is just ONE of hundreds of examples and this was just May 2020—If mail in voting is allowed, it could go either way, BUT as for ME, I want a FAIR and HONEST election. THE EXCUSE that people don’t want to vote in person because they feel “unsafe” is STUPID—LET’S TAKE A POLL AMERICA…. WHO FEELS UNSAFE VOTING???? Please…tell me…wear a stupid mask and latex gloves if you’ve listened to CNN and MSNBC and are scared to go out of your house!!! Take back your lives PEOPLE!!! I don’t want my children and grandchildren to grow up in this “NEW NORMAL” crap!!!!! VOTE ROMNEY OUT! I’m disgusted with him and his sham self—take of your sheep costume…we know you’re a wolf!!!

“Hundreds of Mail-In Votes Already Set Aside Due to Voter Fraud Claims in Paterson, New Jersey
There have been reports of postal workers leaving stacks of ballots in building lobbies because voting rolls have outdated addresses listed
There are questions of possible voter fraud….due to hundreds of ballots have been found mailed together in mailboxes.
The mayor of Paterson says the voting problems could be criminal…”

MULTIPLY THIS BY 51 STATES and we won’t know who’s president until 2023 and you know what that means…..CRAZY NANCY PELOSI will be in charge….and if that happens, even GOD won’t be able to help us.

Why such nasty comments about one of the few sane republicans holding office?
