LOGAN — A 34-year-old Providence man is behind bars on suspicion of molesting a 6-year-old girl numerous times. Bryan K. Prisbrey was arrested Friday afternoon.
According to an arrest warrant, deputies received a report of the crime from the alleged victim’s mother last week. The young girl had told her how Prisbrey, an acquaintance of the family, had allegedly pulled her pants down and touched her inappropriately.
The alleged victim later told investigators that the assault was painful. It also had occurred multiple times. She claimed that when she confronted Prisbrey about what had occurred, he told her not to tell anyone.
The girl’s mother confronted Prisbrey about the allegations. He reportedly told her that “he was so intoxicated that he does not remember (the abuse) happening. He did admit to telling the girl not to tell anyone.
When deputies contacted Prisbrey, he became hysterical and started crying. He again stated that “he was more intoxicated than he had ever been and does not remember what had occurred.”
Prisbrey was booked on suspicion of felony aggravated sex abuse of a child. He is being held without bail and is expected to be formally arraigned in 1st District Court next week.
Intoxication is not an excuse. You chose to drink in the first place!
Arrested on “suspicion” and name and picture plastered across the internet. Even if he is exonerated, his life is ruined.
Sounds like he did it. He admitted to it and said he was so intoxicated he couldn’t remember but he did remember. He admitted to telling the girl not to tell. Glad the girl was brave and told her mom. Hope she can heal from the abuse. Shouldn’t have touched a little girl if he didn’t want his picture all over the news.
