Sky View and Ridgeline share Region 11 boys championship, with Ridgeline girls winning the region outright

LOGAN – The Sky View Bobcats and Ridgeline Riverhawks will share the 2019-2020 Region 11 boys basketball championship as each finished the regular season with a 9-1 record on Friday night. Sky View defeated Mountain Crest 65-38 Friday night while Ridgeline survived Logan 57-51 in the Grizzly Den. The other game of the night in Region 11 boys basketball with a lot on the line was Bear River at Green Canyon. While a chance at a region championship was far out of reach, each team was playing for an opportunity to be in the top 10 of the RPI standings of 4A basketball. In the end, Green Canyon defeated the Bears 55-49 on Senior Night for the Wolves.

Sky View 9-1, 18-3
Ridgeline 9-1, 16-6
Green Canyon 5-5, 12-10
Bear River 4-6, 13-9
Logan 3-7, 7-15
Mountain Crest 0-10, 1-20

The regular season for Region 11 girls basketball concluded Thursday with the Ridgeline Riverhawks finishing as outright region champions. The Riverwhawks picked up two more wins this past week to finish 9-1 in region play. Green Canyon and Sky View tied for second, finishing with region records of 7-3, followed by Logan at 4-6, Bear River at 3-7 and Mountain Crest at 0-10. Neither the Mountain Crest girls or boys basketball teams got a single victory in region play this season.

Ridgeline 9-1, 17-5
Green Canyon 7-3, 16-5
Sky View 7-3, 12-10
Logan 4-6, 12-9
Bear River 3-7, 8-13

The final RPI rankings from the Utah High School Activities Association will be released on Saturday, February 15. Those ranked in the top 10 earn a first round bye in next week’s playoffs. The first round of the 4A state basketball playoffs take place on Tuesday, February 17 at home sites for the boys and on Wednesday, February 18 at home sites for the girls.
