Elderly woman dies in vehicle crash in west Logan

LOGAN — An elderly woman died Monday afternoon in a two vehicle crash that also sent another person to the hospital. The accident occurred at 1 p.m. at the intersection of 1000 W. 1000 S. in Logan.

Police report a white car was heading southbound on 1000 W., when it attempted to turn left in front of a northbound black SUV. The woman was a passenger in the white car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the white vehicle was taken to the hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the SUV did not sustain any major injuries.

Initially evidence suggests the white car failed to yield to oncoming traffic.

Police are not releasing the name of the elderly victims, pending notification of family. They are both from the Logan area.

The accident remains under investigation.
