LOGAN – Allen Endicott, scout executive for Trapper Trails Council, said 2019 was a big year for Eagle Scouts for the Council. The rush for the Eagle Scout awards in December ended with almost half of the total applications for the whole year.
In December 2019, there were 1,340 applications received at the scout offices throughout the three-state region of Utah, Southeast Idaho and Western Wyoming.
At the conclusion of 2019, 2,819 young men applied for the rank in the same geographic area.
“It’s been an exciting year for Eagle Scouts!” Endicott said.
Eagle Scout rank is the highest achievement or rank attainable by both young men and young women in the scouting organization since its inception in 1911. On average, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank after a lengthy review process.
Over 2.5 million youth have earned the Eagle Scout rank according to the organization.
