LOGAN — Police have arrested a 24-year-old Logan man suspected in a date rape crime Thursday night. Karsten Hinckley was booked into the Cache County Jail early Friday morning.
Logan City Police Capt. Curtis Hooley said the alleged victim contacted officers late Thursday. She claimed that she was on a date with the suspect when he sexually assaulted her.
Hinckley cooperated with police when they contacted him hours later. He was booked on suspicion of felony rape and sodomy.
Hooley said initial reports suggest that Hinckley took things further than the woman wanted. The matter has been turned over to the Cache County Attorney’s Office to determine what charges will be filed.
Hinckley is out of jail after posting $40,000 bond.
