LOGAN — The body of a missing Utah State University student was found late Wednesday night. Baxter Franklin King was found deceased in his car, hours after the USU police department asked for help locating him.
Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Mikelshan Bartschi confirmed that a deputy found King, deceased in his car, in the Temple Fork area of Logan Canyon. The deputy was responding to a call from a group that had seen a vehicle matching the 19-year-olds. There was no evidence of foul play.
USU police officers reported that King was last seen on Monday, October 14. He reportedly texted another individual three days later on October 17. The student had also missed work, alarming family and friends who described that it was unusual for him to be out of contact for so long.
An update on USU’s Facebook page said, “Our thoughts are with [Baxter’s] family, and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.” The statement went onto explain, “We are heartbroken to lose a member of our Aggie family. We thank all of those who shared posts on Facebook and Twitter and those who physically searched for [Baxter].”
My heart goes out to his family prayers for his family to also such a sad situation
