Charles “Cody” Waldron

July 21, 1950October 10, 2019 – (age 69)

Charles “Cody” Waldron, 69, longtime Malad resident, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019, following a short illness.

Cody was born on July 21, 1950 in Malad, Idaho. He was the son or Ernest S. and Ivy P. Waldron. He was raised in Samaria, where even as a young kid he loved to go out hunting, pheasants especially. His love for the outdoors and hunting was well known.

In 1970 , he married Thelma Severson in the original Pioneer Hall, West Jordan, Utah. They spent everyday of their 49 year marriage together, hardly ever apart.

They made their home outside of Malad where he began working as Malad Cemetery Sexton. He worked there for 25 years before retiring. He took pride in his yard and would add a gnome any chance he got. He continued to love hunting with his son and family. In his later years, he made his top priority spending time with his grandchildren. His kids and grand-kids were his pride and joy. They all loved their “Papa”. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by wife, Thelma of 49 years, his 2 children; Eli (Lindsay) Waldron of Malad, Idaho and Jennifer (Edward) Williams of Pocatello, Idaho. His grandchildren Drew, Baily, Jake, Kodie, Mady, Whitnee, Drake, Natalie, Hunter, Ellie and Savannah. One brother Doyle (Marie) Waldron of Malad, Idaho and 2 sisters Sherrie (Steve) Johnson of Malad, Idaho and VaLois Orgill of Sandy, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Lee and Lloyd Waldron, a sister, Colleen Waldron, and a brother-in-law, Clive Orgill.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 West 300 North in Malad, Idaho. Friends may come to the funeral home on Tuesday prior to services from 10:30 – 11:45am. Burial will follow in the Malad Cemetery.
