LOGAN — On Thursday, Gary Saxton of the Logan Downtown Alliance gave us an update on the Center Street Project. Saxton said the project is moving onto completion
“I think if you were to just go downtown right now and park and walk around, you’d see that all of the sidewalk concrete has been poured up next to all of the buildings. That was the first phase we wanted to get established to get away from the gravel pathways onto concrete. Now they’re doing the second phase of concrete, widening the sidewalk, and you’ll see today that they’re actually working on the curb and gutter,” he said.
Saxton told KVNU’s For the People host Jason Williams the project has had a couple days delay because of bad weather over the Utah State University Homecoming weekend and pre-mature foot traffic.
“We had to pull up about a 150 linear feet of sidewalk because people had walked on the wet concrete or had etched their initials (in the wet concrete).”
Saxton said the project is moving towards completion in late November and November 30th will be the day for the grand re-opening of Center Street.
