LOGAN — A 20-year-old North Logan man has confessed to sexually abusing a teenage girl, after he posed as a girl on social media to lure the victim to his home. Tristan T. Larson accepted a plea deal that could still send him to prison.

Larson appeared in 1st District Court Tuesday morning. He pleaded guilty to an amended charge of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony. As part of the agreement, prosecutors dropped two remaining charges and agreed not to ask for the maximum prison sentence,15 years.

According to police, the 13-year-old girl said she received a Snapchat message on June 22. The message was from a girl that she believed she knew from school, and invited her to an apartment complex in North Logan.

The girl told North Park police officers that when she went to the apartment, Larson answered the door and pulled her inside. He then placed a red bandanna over her mouth and tied it around the back of her head.

The girl claimed that Larson pushed her down a hallway, into a bedroom, and onto a bed. He then pulled her pants down and raped her. She said that she was unable to scream due to the bandanna, and the suspect didn’t say anything to her throughout the assault.

Larson spoke only briefly during Tuesday’s hearing. He told the court he was willing to waive his rights to a trial and was guilty of the charge.

Judge Brian Cannell scheduled sentencing for November 19.

Larson remains in jail, being held without bail. He still could face up to 10 years in prison.
