PRESTON – The filing period for mayoral and council positions in five of Franklin County’s incorporated towns ended Sept. 6 at 5 p.m.
In the city of Preston, there will be a two-way race for mayor. Incumbent Mark Beckstead is running for another term and he’ll face off against challenger Dan Keller.
There are two, four-year council seats up for grabs in Preston. Incumbents Terry Larson and Bradley Wall filed for re-election. Brent Dodge and Tonia Brown also filed.
In Clifton, four individuals expressed interest in two, four-year seats. Dave Wand, Andy Clawson, Tennison Westover and Kristin Skinner all filed.
Five people filed for two, four-year council positions available in Franklin City. They are John D. Packer. Deirdra Burgess, Tauma Noel, Marilyn Sanchez and Corey Richards.
In Dayton, two individuals filed for two, four-year terms: Stacy Moser and Dee Beckstead.
In Weston, there are also two, four-year council seats open and two individuals filed. They are Scott Vahsholtz and Sarah Layland.
The General Election will be held November 5, 2019.
