Utah State’s Katie Struthers-Haviland named Mountain West Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State junior Katie Struthers-Haviland has been named the Mountain West Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for action through Sept. 3, as announced by the league offices.

Overall, it is the first time this season and the first time in her career that Struthers-Haviland has earned MW Athlete of the Week honors.

The native of Lehi, Utah, finished first among Aggie women competitors in the 5-kilometer run, and second overall, with a time of 18:29.40 at the USU-hosted Sagebrush Invitational. Struthers-Haviland led the Aggie women to the team title with 25 points, finishing ahead of Mountain West-rivals Boise State (34 points) and UNLV (75 points).

Utah State is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Montana State Invitational.
