Local State Legislators are inviting Cache County residents to a Town Hall meeting to learn about the latest on two controversial issues.
The meeting, Thursday, August 22 at 7 pm in the Cache County Historic Courthouse, will cover the newest details on medical marijuana and Medicaid expansion in Utah.
“Both of those laws are changing somewhat with the waivers the White House shot down,” according to House Representative Val Potter, R-District 3. “That’s changed things a bit. We wanted to take the opportunity with the town hall to let everyone know where we are with these two new laws and give them an update of what’s happening at the legislature.”
Experts who worked on the two bills will present an update as well as take questions from the public.
Panelists include:
- State Rep. Jim Dunnigan – Sponsor, Medicaid Expansion Legislation
- Dr. Ed Redd – Former Legislator & Chair, Cannabinoid Program Board & Compassionate Use Board
- Lloyd Berentzen – Director, Bear River Health Department
- Michael Curtis – State Legislative Services Attorney
