Lyric Repertory Company
All six acts for the Lyric Repertory Company are now in full swing, and this weekend there are matinee and evening performances of Mamma Mia!, A Raisin in the Sun, Clybourne Park, Murder for Two, The Great Society and Size Matters on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Caine Lyric Theatre as well as in the Morgan and Black Box theaters on USU’s campus.
Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre
Performances are also in full swing for the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre, with matinee and evening performances Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Ellen Eccles and Utah theaters with Bravo, Caruso!, Newsies, Mary Poppins, Marriage of Figaro and West Side Story.
Fry Street Chamber Music Festival + USU Summer Piano Festival
The Fry Street Chamber Music Festival and USU Summer Piano Festival is Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Performances are free and open to the public and will take place at the Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall, St. John’s Episcopal Church and Logan Tabernacle.
Scoop it Forward
While you’re on campus Friday, head over to Aggie Ice Cream. Dairy West is donating free ice cream coupons to the first 500 people who show up, starting at 5 p.m. It’s National Ice Cream Month and Dairy West is encouraging you to Scoop it Forward and surprise someone with a random act of ice cream.
Relay for Life
Join Relay for Life for their 24 hour event this weekend. Cancer never sleeps, and we won’t either. Opening ceremonies are Friday at 2 p.m. in Willow Park and festivities continue through the night, including a survivor ceremony and a luminaria ceremony.
Mountain Man Rendezvous
Go back in time to the Cache Valley Mountain Man Rendezvous at the American West Heritage Center this weekend. Check out traders row, throw a tomahawk and have fun with skill demonstrations Friday and Saturday, starting at 10 a.m.
Wizarding Dayz
If re-enacting a mountain man isn’t your thing, how about a wizard? Wizarding Dayz is Friday and Saturday at the Cache County Events Center. Walk through magical sets, take a class, come dressed as your favorite magical creature, and even learn to sword fight.
Canyon Jams
Enjoy folksy, live music in the great outdoors up beautiful Logan Canyon Saturday night, with Canyon Jams. Wood Belly performs at 2nd Dam and doors open at 6.
USU Alumni Band
The USU Alumni Band caps the weekend when they perform Sunday night on the Utah State University quad. The concert is free and begins at 7 p.m.
