It’s the Weekend: June 27-30, 2019

We’ve got community celebrations, opportunities to thank our heroes and activities that will get your heart pumping all over Cache Valley.

Idaho Days Celebration

Just across the border, Franklin is celebrating Idaho Days this weekend. There will be box car races, parades, pageants and fireworks. There will be big fun in this small town Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Growing Up Navajo

Hear from author, Navajo story-teller and motivational speaker Rose Johnson-Tsosie at the Hyrum City Square. She’ll share her story of growing up Navajo, living in a white world starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Stardust Big Band Dinner & Show

The Stardust Big Band Dinner and Show takes you back to the big band era with an evening of dinner, music and dancing. There will be a live jazz band with singers and dancers Thursday, Friday, Saturday and next Monday at the Cache County Events Center.

Hug Our Heroes

Take some time to honor and show respect to our first responders and heroes on Friday. Rocky Mountain Care is hosting a free Hug Our Heroes BBQ lunch for fire department, police, military and anyone who has served in those roles. Anyone else who attends between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. is asked to make a $3 donation which will go to a first responders scholarship fund.

David Lee Murphy

Million-selling singer-songwriter David Lee Murphy will be performing at Cherry Peak Friday night. Murphy was a pioneer of the edgy, rocking style that now dominates modern country music, and the concert begins at 5 p.m.

Hangar Hop

A 1940s era Big Band Swing Hangar Hop takes place Friday night at the Logan-Cache Airport. There will be live music from the Cache Community Band from 5-8 p.m.

Addict II Athlete 5K & 1 mile run

Start your Saturday morning off with a run with the Cache County Addict 2 Athlete 5K and 1 mile run. The race begins at 7 a.m. at Cedar Ridge Elementary.

Bike the Beav: Grass Roots Trail Party and UnRace

Beaver Mountain is hosting an Unrace and Grass Roots Trail Party this Saturday. An Unrace is a bike race that isn’t timed, includes some fun feats of strength and there will be plenty of opportunities for pictures starting at 10 a.m.

Millville City Celebration

Celebrate with Millville City on Saturday. Their annual city celebration includes a parade, firefighter water fight, concert in the park and a pulled pork dinner. The fun begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday.


And don’t forget, performances continue this weekend with the Lyric Repertory Company, Four Seasons Theatre Company, free concerts at the Logan Tabernacle and the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre.
