It’s the Weekend: June 13-16, 2019

It’s a tremendous weekend in Cache Valley with so many fun things to do, from Summerfest, to a car show, to big races to the opening of the Lyric Repertory season. And we’ve got all the details right here.

Lyric Repertory Company

The 2019 Lyric season is bigger than ever, with six shows in three separate venues. The first of those shows opens Friday with Raisin in the Sun at the Caine Lyric Theatre. Additional productions this season include Mamma Mia! (at the Morgan Theatre at USU), Clybourne Park (at USU’s Black Box Theatre), Murder for Two (at the Caine Lyric Theatre), Great Society (at USU’s Black Box Theatre), and Size Matters (at the Caine Lyric Theatre).

Summerfest Arts Faire

Always one of the highlights of summer in Cache Valley is the Summerfest Arts Faire and it’s this weekend. A variety of art, crafts, food and music all take place around the Logan Tabernacle Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Ragnar Wasatch Back

Hundreds of runners and their support teams will be making their way from USU’s Ralph Maughan Track to Kamas in the Ragnar Wasatch Back. Runners will be released at varying times beginning early Friday morning and run in a relay through the south end of Cache County.

The Little Mermaid

Four Seasons Theatre Company presents The Little Mermaid this summer. Performances are at the Sky View High School auditorium and begin this Friday, continuing through the end of the month.

Divide 30K

The third annual Divide 30K and relay is this Saturday in Clarkston. The race begins bright and early at 6 a.m. and is a fundraiser for NAMI – National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Nibley Heritage Days begin this weekend with a community fun run and disc golf tournament on Saturday. The fun run begins at 8:30 a.m. at Heritage Park and the disc golf tournament at 10:30 a.m. at the Sunrise Meadows Disc Golf Course.

Breakfast Jam

Pancakes and live music go together, don’t they? That’s what you’ll get Saturday morning at the Willow Park Lion’s Pavilion starting at 9 a.m. Dads get a special gift in honor of Father’s Day at the 2nd Annual Breakfast Jam, which is a fundraiser for Center on Third.

Touch a Truck

Bring your children to Elk Ridge Park in North Logan to explore vehicles of all types. There will be firetrucks, police cars, construction equipment, and even a helicopter. Touch a Truck begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Father’s Day Car Show

Hot rods, grilling and live music will be at Lee’s Marketplace on Saturday. Their annual Father’s Day Car Show is a benefit for The Family Place and takes place from 10 a.m to 3 p.m.

Trash Car Racing

Now let’s go from classy to trashy. Dirt track racing, smashing and crashing all take place Saturday at the Cache County rodeo arena with Trash Car Racing. Gates open at 5 for timed runs and racing begins at 7.

So excited for Logan’s summer theater season!

(By the way, CVD, it’s difficult to hear your guests’ info over the music – sounds like a mixing issue?)

Summer in Logan is the best!
