It’s the Weekend: March 21-24, 2019

This weekend features the latest in home and gardening trends, energy healing and beautiful music. We’ve got all the details in this week’s edition of “It’s the Weekend!”

Cache Valley Home and Garden Show

Over 100 vendors will be sharing their goods and expertise at the Cache Valley Home and Garden Show presented by Anderson’s Seed and Garden at the Eccles Ice Arena Friday and Saturday. For those debating whether to watch the Aggies or attend the show, the game WILL be on in multiple places. The event also includes a kids area.

Divvy UP

Going on now through Saturday is the Divvy UP Children’s Consignment Sale. Over 40,000 gently used items will be for sale at the Cache County Events Center.

Single Parent Night

Bridgerland Technical College is hosting a Single Parent Night on Thursday. It includes resources, vendors, prizes a guest speaker and more. It’s totally free and catered specifically to single parents, and it starts at 6 p.m.

Alice in Wonderland

Did you ever want to follow that white rabbit down the rabbit hole? Cache Valley Civic Ballet performs Alice in Wonderland Friday and Saturday night at the Eccles Theatre with a Saturday matinee.

Science Unwrapped

USU’s Science Unwrapped continues their theme of “Powers of 10” with this Friday’s presentation of Angstrom. USU biochemist Sean Johnson will explain the teeny tiny unit of length. The hands-on learning activities and free refreshments begin at 7 p.m.

ABBA Sing Along

Have you ever wanted to be the dancing queen? Dance and sing along to the hits of ABBA at a fundraiser for Cache Theatre Company at Cache Venue. You can meet the cast of their upcoming production of Mama Mia! Friday at 7 p.m.

Energy Healing Conference

Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Riverwoods Conference Center is the Energy Healing Conference. Learn, shop and connect with dozens of unique vendors who specialize in homeopathic and naturopathic healing.

CAPSA Rail Jam

Throw your tricks at Beaver Mountain Ski Resort this Saturday for their annual Rail Jam. There will be great prizes for the participants and even some swag thrown into the crowd. Rail Jam proceeds benefit CAPSA.

Behind the Scenes of “Relative Race”

On Saturday at noon, the Logan Family Search Library is hosting Dan Debenham, host of BYU TV’s “Relative Race” at the Logan Tabernacle. The noon event will be a behind the scenes look at how teams find relatives they’ve never met before across the country.

Mahler’s Third Symphony

Cap your weekend off with some incredible music. Saturday at 7:30 p.m. the Caine College of the Arts presents Mahler’s Third Symphony in the Daines Concert Hall. Regarded as one of the ten best symphonies of all time, Saturday’s performance will combine international guest artists with those close to home.

Choral Meditation for Lent

And on Sunday, St. John’s Episcopal Church hosts a Choral Meditation for Lent, featuring the USU Choral Scholars. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. at 85 East 100 North in Logan.
