1 injured in fire at Wyoming wellhead building

EVANSTON, Wyo. (AP) — Authorities say one person has been seriously burned after an explosion and fire in a building that houses a wellhead in southwest Wyoming.

KSTU-TV in Salt Lake City reports that, according to Uinta County Fire and Ambulance, the incident occurred Saturday morning.

It says the person was taken to Evanston Regional Hospital and later transported to the University of Utah Burn Unit.

No other details, including the name of the victim, were released.

The cause of the explosion and fire is under investigation. The wellhead in the building manages the flow of oil or gas from the completed underground well.
