Sheriff’s office releases identity of Franklin County homicide victim

Law enforcement officials have released the identity of a 31-year-old man who was found murdered over the weekend in a Franklin, Idaho home.

Franklin County Sheriff David Fryar said the victim was Wilden Everett Lovin, Jr. His death has been classified as a homicide as deputies continue to investigate the case.

Lovin’s body was found Saturday afternoon by an individual who called 911, reporting that the death did not appear to be from natural causes. When deputies arrived at the home near 515 S. 2200 E. they determined foul play may have been involved.

Deputies have been assisted by officers from the Preston City Police Department, Idaho State Police Crime Lab and State Police Detectives. They have identified several people of interest but no arrests have been made yet.

Lovin’s body was turned over to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office and then released for an autopsy to be conducted. Deputies will not release the cause of death until the examination is completed.

Fryar said the sheriff’s office has enlisted the help of the Tri-County Sheriff’s Association for additional help in their continuing investigation. He is asking anyone with information that may help to contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
