It’s the Weekend: Nov. 22-25, 2018

With family in town, there are some fun ways to celebrate together and start getting ready for the holiday season.

Free Thanksgiving Meal

If you don’t have a place to go this Thanksgiving, Angie’s restaurant is offering a free Thanksgiving meal to those who need it from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. While you don’t have to pay for your meal, you can leave a donation that goes directly to charities in our community.


This weekend is the 35th anniversary of Novemberfest Arts and Crafts Fair. It takes place both Friday and Saturday at the Riverwoods Conference Center. Santa will be paying a visit at 3 o’clock Friday and Saturday.

The Nutcracker

The enchanted Christmas story of The Nutcracker comes alive in the Ellen Eccles Theatre this weekend. Matinee performances are Friday and Saturday, with evening performances Saturday and next Monday. And don’t forget the Sugar Plum Tea at 11 prior to each matinee.

Black Friday – Small Business Saturday

Do you have a game plan all figured out for Black Friday? You can check out all the local deals here. And, don’t forget about Small Business Saturday. Support the small businesses in our community. They’re owned and operated by your friends and neighbors and are vital to Cache Valley.

Tree Lighting Festival

Downtown Logan will host the first-ever Tree Lighting Festival this Saturday at 5:30 on the grounds of the Logan Tabernacle. Santa will be there, there will be carolers and hot cocoa.

Festival of Lights

Preston kicks off the holiday season with their annual Festival of Lights this Saturday. It begins with a variety show at 12:15 p.m. in the Preston High auditorium, the Bed Race down Main Street is at 3, then the lighted parade starts at 6:30, followed by fireworks.


And finally, it is a season to be grateful for the things we have and help those who don’t have much. The USU Student Nutrition Access Center will be going around Cache Valley Sunday and Monday collecting food for the Cache Community Food Pantry.
