LOGAN — A 37-year-old North Logan man has been arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse. Richard Martinez was booked Friday afternoon into the Cache County Jail. He’s being held on $40,000 bail.

Cache County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Matt Bilodeau said the sheriff’s office, with the assistance of the North Park Police Department, served a search warrant Friday morning to a North Logan home near 2200 Nouth 700 East.

Martinez was taken into custody without incident. He was later booked on four counts of physical child abuse, a second-degree felony.

Bilodeau said the victim was removed from the home by agents with the Division of Child and Family Services. The extent of her injuries were not disclosed.

Detectives are still conducting interviews and processing evidence in the case. Formal charges are pending the completion of the investigation.

Bilodeau said the arrest was the result of the cooperation and hard work from detectives from both the sheriff’s office and police department.
