Herm Olsen has been a member of the Cache County Water District Board since its formation. He believes it is very important to have the board now that it is in existence.
He was also pleased to see there is another candidate for Seat #3 on the water district: Jonathan Kirby. Both are residents of Logan.
Olsen says establishment of such a board was the right thing to do.
“First off, Cache County really did need to establish a water district, because we might have been the last county in the state to have one. Cache County needed to act to protect and preserve the water rights that we have through the Bear River Compact.
“So, a couple of years ago the voters gave a tentative ‘okay, let’s give it a try.’ I was appointed to serve as a member of the 11 member board and we have staggered elections.”
Olsen believes it is extremely important to protect and preserve our water. He is a practicing attorney and a member of the Logan Municipal Council.
