He is a farmer from Young Ward and Gordon Zilles is also a member of the Cache County Council, a position he would like to keep for another four-year term. Zilles says a lot has happened while he has been serving on the council, including formation of the Cache Water Conservancy District.
He says that means it will be more possible to develop water projects and to be recognized by the state, although a lot of water is still badly needed.
“We’ve got a lot of area in Cache Valley that just doesn’t have any water,” says Zilles. If we could do some projects that could take water to those areas then we can develop those areas and fix it so it’s not just a real stack of people where the water is, but move water around in the valley. We’ve got a lot of ability with pipes and pumps that we can do that now.”
Zilles is a Republican and he faces Democrat Rebecca Winstead in the coming election.
