It’s the Weekend – Oct. 11-14, 2018

It’s Homecoming Week for USU, and there are more fun and games than just Aggie Football this weekend. We’ve got all the details in this week’s edition of “It’s the Weekend!”

Homecoming

Utah State University celebrates 100 years of the Scotsman at this year’s Homecoming festivities. You can get your first look at the USU men’s and women’s basketball teams Thursday night at Aggie Madness, the Aggie Family Reunion is 6 p.m. Friday at the Aggie Recreation Center, and later that night is True Aggie Night! Are you a True Aggie?

The fun continues on Saturday with the Running of the Bulls 5K at 8:30, parade down Main Street starting at 10, tailgating festivities starting at 12 noon, and finally the USU football game vs UNLV kicks off at 2. Go Aggies!

Gaming Convention

The first-ever Cache Valley gaming convention is this weekend. MyCon takes place at the Cache County Events Center Thursday through Saturday. A portion of the proceeds go to support The Family Place and CAPSA.

Business Conference

Utah’s First Lady Jeanette Herbert will be the keynote speaker at the Cache Business Women’s Conference. The conference is Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Riverwoods Conference Center.

Theater

Performances of Addams Family the Musical continue this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and so do performances of Xanadu at USU’s Morgan Theatre.

And opening this Friday is Camelot at the Ellen Eccles Theatre. Produced by the Cache Theatre Company, performances run through October 20th.

Art fundraiser

Celebrate the arts even further by attending the Art for CAPSA fundraiser at Malouf this Friday night. Meet renowned artists, bid on original paintings and support the cause to end abuse in Cache Valley.

USU Symphony Orchestra

Join the USU Symphony Orchestra and guests for an evening of European folk-inspired favorites. This free concert is Friday at 7 p.m. in the Logan Tabernacle.

Bike the Beav

And finally, get outside this weekend and Bike the Beav! It’s an UnRace – which means you can take your time on the new single-track course, snap photos along the way, and have a great time with friends as you explore Beaver Mountain.
