It’s the Weekend – October 4-7, 2018

Watch parties, spooky stories, and blessing the animals…we’ve got all the details in this week’s edition of “It’s the Weekend!”

Oktoberfest

Celebrate Oktoberfest with German food, music, dancing and games. Fresh brats and more will be available starting at 4 p.m. Thursday at Logan High School.

Or, celebrate the fall season with live music, free food, giveaways and art with Artoberfest. Artoberfest is Thursday from 4-7 p.m. on the USU Quad.

Blessing of the Animals

Thursday is the day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. There are two opportunities to get your pets blessed this weekend: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will offer a blessing of the pets on Thursday at 6:30 p.m., while St. John’s Episcopal Church will offer their blessing of the pets Saturday at 2:30. Bring pets on a leash, in a crate, or in a tank.

Divvy Up

If you’re looking for great deals on gently used children’s clothing, costumes, toys and more, check out the Divvy Up this weekend. It continues Thursday through Saturday at the Cache County Fairgrounds.

Football Watch Party

If you can’t make it to Provo to cheer on USU, join other Aggie fans and watch the game on a 70 foot screen downtown. Sponsored by the USU Alumni Association and the Logan Downtown Alliance, bring your own seating and an appetite. Food trucks and games start at 6 p.m. behind Cache Valley Bank.

First Friday Dance

Show off your creative side at the First Friday dance at the Whittier Community Center. Come in costume and have fun from 9 to midnight on Friday.

Addams Family the Musical

Start to get into the Halloween spirit when Four Seasons Theatre Company presents Addams Family the Musical, starting this weekend. Performances are October 5th through the 15th at Sky View High School.

Downtown Ghost Tours

Or, explore the spooky side of Historic Downtown Logan with the Downtown Logan Ghost Tours. The tours begin this weekend and continue through the end of October.

Xanadu

The USU Department of Theatre Arts presents Xanadu this Friday and Saturday in the Morgan Theatre. The play includes roller skates, forbidden love and following your dreams.

Moondog Ball

Finish your weekend off at the Moondog Ball, 7 p.m. Saturday at the Logan Golf and Country Club. The event includes lots of live music, magic, food and silent auction. Moondog Ball is a benefit for Four Paws Rescue.
