“Teens & Screens: Who Is In Control?” That is the question that might be answered at an event being held Friday, Sept. 14th at The Family Place, 1525 North 200 West in Logan between 6:30-8 p.m.
Esterlee Molyneux, executive director of The Family Place, says the event will be a place for parents to learn about the effects of technology and what they can do about it, which is actually a lot.
“One: what is the problem? What are our children really facing?” Molyneux says when describing the goals of the meeting. “Two: we will be giving practical solutions and things parents can implement to help not only build self confidence within their teens but to give tools and tips about how to decrease the amount of time they are spending on their devices.
“Then three: how do we really promote self care within families?”
She says many parents are concerned about the time their teenagers and pre-teens spend with social media, gaming and in front of other devices.
Parents will receive help on such issues as social media and learn more about how teenagers can enjoy spending more time with their their families.
Molyneux says there will be cookies for dessert and admission is free. Co-sponsors are Logan River Academy and the Cache County Attorney’s Office.
The young man, closest to the front of the photo, must have had his left hand swallowed by the brick steps they are sitting on. Not sure he was even in the photo to begin with!!!
