It’s the Weekend – August 30 – September 3, 2018

It’s Labor Day weekend and we’ve got a lot of fun things to see and do around Cache Valley. Not only that, USU students have returned to campus, which means fun events to kick off the school year.

USU Activities

The fall semester is under way and that means lots of fun activities for USU’s Week of Welcome. Thursday afternoon the USU sororities and fraternities are doing a giant slip ’n slide down Old Main. And at 5 on Thursday is the Big Agg Music Festival on the Quad.

The USU volleyball team hosts the Utah State Invitational on Kirby Court. 6 matches from 10 a.m. Friday morning to 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the Wayne Estes Center.

Wellsville Founders Day

Several activities are taking place in Wellsville this weekend as they celebrate Founders Day. Friday and Saturday night is the Wellsville Stampede Rodeo, starting at 7:30 each night. And they’ve got a full day of activities planned on Monday, Labor Day. There will be food, games, live music and lots of activities for kids.

Rocky Mountain Kickoff

Friday is the Rocky Mountain Kickoff – two high school games at USU’s football stadium. Help break the Utah high school attendance record by watching Logan take on Ogden at 5:30, then Mountain Crest and Box Elder at about 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the Cache Valley Media Group or at the gate.

Logan Pride Festival

The Logan Pride Festival is Saturday at Willow Park. This year’s theme is “Rainbow Connections: Strength in Local Diversity”. The festival runs from Noon to 7 p.m.

End of Summer Concert

Smashmouth closes out the summer Saturday night at Cherry Peak Ski Resort. The concert begins at 7 pm with special guest Foreign Figures. Remember, parking is limited so carpool and arrive early.
