A wildfire burning along Interstate 84 in Box Elder County caused fire officials and Utah Department of Transportation to close the interstate at approximately 8 p.m. Friday evening. Labeled the Goring Fire, it had rapidly grown to 7,000 acres as of 10 p.m. Friday with 0% containment.
According to UDOT, the 32 mile section of freeway that has been closed is between Snowville (at mile post 7) and Tremonton (at mile post 39). According to Utah Fire Info on Twitter (@UtahWildfire), the fire began near Howell and is burning in several locations along I-84 northbound. No evacuations have been ordered as of yet.

North bound traffic will need to stay on I-15 until Pocatello, where it is being detoured onto I-86. South bound traffic is being detoured via State Road 83 at Howell.
Crews in Box Elder County have had a busy fire season recently, notably battling a massive wildfire at the Utah-Nevada border totaling over 123,000 acres, over 193 square miles.
