LOGAN — Deputies believe a woman, whose body was found in Logan Canyon a week ago, died intentionally.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Locke said their investigation has concluded that the woman purposely fell from a cliff July 3.  Her body was discovered the next morning by hikers, along the Logan River, north of the Stokes Nature Center.

Deputies were able to retrieve the woman’s body and turned it over to the State Medical Examiner’s Office, to determine the exact cause of death.  They were also able identify the woman from her belongings, and notify her family.  Her identity is being withheld, due to the circumstances.

Locke said the woman was reportedly from out of the area and attending school at Utah State University.
