Bike sharing program going great so far, says Daines

LOGAN – If you live in or around Logan you are likely seeing a lot of orange bicycles. Mayor Holly Daines said the city is involved in a bike-sharing program with Utah State University and a bicycle company. She said it has turned out to be extremely popular and is not costing the city anything as it is being tried on a one-year basis.

“You’ve got a lot of flexibility and you can see from the app where the nearest bike is,” she said. “People seem to be enjoying it and using it.”

Daines is reminding the public that Friday is Bike to Work Day. She suggested that people use the day to get better acquainted with biking and the numerous benefits it provides. As a guest on KVNU’s ‘For the People” program Wednesday, Daines said she plans on being on a bike herself and invites anyone interested to join her.
