It’s the Weekend – May 17-19, 2018

It’s a big week in Richmond for Black & White Days. It’s the 103rd anniversary of one of the longest-running cattle shows in the country. Heifer and cow shows are Thursday and Friday, and Saturday is full of activities.

Saturday starts with a chuckwagon breakfast at 7 a.m., Cow-A-Bunga race at 8, horse show at 9, and there will be vendors and family activities taking place in the park throughout the day. And the fun concludes with a parade at 5 p.m. and horse pulls at 7 in the arena.

The Cache County Sheriff’s Office celebrates National Law Enforcement Week to honor fallen deputies. Moments of silence will take place Thursday and Friday mornings at 9 a.m. in front of the flag pole at the Cache County Sheriff’s Office. A formal retirement of colors will take place Friday at 5 p.m.

This weekend you can see dogs of all kinds and sizes at the Cache County Fairgrounds. The Mount Ogden Kennel Club is hosting their All Breed Dog ShowThursday through Sunday.

Support over 400 Utah State student athletes at this year’s Aggie Auction. Experience the magic at the Logan-Cache Airport in Hanger J7 on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. The funds raised support student-athlete scholarships.

There will be a lot of black and white in Richmond this weekend, and there will be no shortage of col-or at the American West Heritage Center with the Color Vibe 5K Run. Grab your friends and get blasted at every color station throughout the course. The race begins at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Logan High School’s Grizz Kids Fun Run-Walk and Roll is Saturday. Grizz Kids is a club at Logan High that is focused on bringing students with disabili-ties and students without disabilities together for after-school activities. Meet at the Logan High flagpole for registration at 8:30 a.m.

The Whittier Center is hosting a Children’s Renaissance Faire fundraiser Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m. There will be magic shows, chainmail making, make and take crafts, a variety of games and a lot more.

Join famed-author Tyler Whitesides at the Logan Library Saturday from 6:30-9 p.m. to celebrate the release of his new book: The Thousand Deaths of Ardor Benn. There will be live music, sword fighting demonstrations, mini escape rooms and lots of book signing.
