Summerfest to feature 165-plus artists

LOGAN – The 2018 edition of the Summerfest Arts Faire will be open Thursday June 14 and continue through June 16 on the shady grounds of the Logan Tabernacle. Executive Director Elaine Thatcher said there will be a bigger show than ever with 165 artists already signed up to come.

She said this year’s featured artist is Julie Crabtree from Wisconsin.

“She was here last year and she won ‘Best in Show’,” Thatcher said. “Her work is hand and machine embroidery and creates these beautiful, soft landscapes. Our poster image is one of her pieces. After she did the show last year in Cache Valley she went up into the mountains and took some pictures and started doing some pieces that reflect our local landscape.”

Thatcher said there will be a lot of good food and entertainment along with the chance to see great artists at work.
