The Tony Award winner for Best Musical, “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” is coming to the Ellen Eccles Theatre this week. According to Jenn Waterhouse, director of marketing and development at the Cache Valley Center for the Arts, the show plays Wednesday and Thursday, May 9th and 10th at 7:30 p.m. at 43 South Main Street in Logan.
Waterhouse says “Gentleman’s Guide” received 10 Tony Award nominations in 2014, winning four awards. A book and lyrics are by Robert L. Freedman and music by Steven Lutvak.
“It’s the story of a man who finds out that he is actually blood related to the wealthiest family in the area, but his mother had been disowned because she married the wrong guy,” Waterhouse explains. “He is in love with this beautiful, but honestly terrible woman who he wants to marry but he knows she won’t marry him unless he has money.
“It is the story about how he systematically offs all eight members of the family in a line of succession so he can become the earl.”
Waterhouse says tickets are on sale at the Cache Arts ticket office or by calling (435) 752-0026.
