USU President to discuss sex assault allegations

LOGAN — Utah State University will hold a press conference today at 11:30, discussing recent sexual assault allegations by the school’s music department.

Earlier this year, several reports on social media by former students of USU’s Piano Program claimed occurrences of sexual assault, harassment and gender discriminations. The allegations prompted the school to launch an independent investigation.

During today’s press conference, USU President Noell Cockett is expected to discuss the results of the investigation, its recommendations and actions she has taken to address the issues. She is also expected to answer questions.

The press conference will be held in the Chase Fine Arts Center and will be broadcast live on News Talk KVNU.
