LOGAN – Cleaning up and restoring neighborhoods is something Mayor Holly Daines has on her calendar into the not-too-distant future. At Tuesday’s meeting Daines told the City Council there is apparently some grant money awaiting those who come up with good plans.
Logan Economic Development Director Mike Desimoni said this would include such things as paint and siding but nothing as expensive as new roofs. There are some stipulations.
“Basically we’ll place a seven-year loan on the property,” Desimoni said. “The homeowner has to remain in the house for seven years, we’ll forgive the grant after that period of time. It needs to remain a single-family residential and owner occupied and the property needs to be maintained.”
If the house is in a nice neighborhood that has also been kept up it will help increase the value of the property.
