Over $4.1 million in requests for funding from Rapz and Restaurant Tax

LOGAN – The deadline has just passed to apply for the so-called Rapz and Restaurant Tax for the next year. Cache County Executive Craig Buttars said there were 77 different requests for funding for a total of $4.1 million.

“We’ve got $2.1 million available for the awards this year,” he said. “So there are twice as much in requests that we’ve got funds available. There are projects that we are funding on an annual basis. I didn’t include that in the funds available amount, but projects like the soccer parks and the recreational projects there in North Logan, some park improvements in Hyde Park.”

On KVNU’s “County Hour” program last week Buttars said the tax has helped pay for projects from communities throughout all Cache County.
