URGENT – WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

1104 AM MST Sun Mar 4 2018
.A strong area of low pressure will move across the Rockies today
and track into eastern South Dakota tonight and Monday. The
heaviest snow will fall across central South Dakota. Upslope
enhanced snow is expected over the northern Black Hills.
Very strong winds will occur on the plains of western South
Dakota Sunday night and Monday, with gusts of 55 to 65 mph
likely. The combination of snow and strong winds would produce
blizzard conditions.
…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS
EVENING TO 5 PM MST MONDAY…
* WHAT…Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow
accumulations of up to 2 inches, with localized amounts up to
5 inches, are expected.
* WHERE…In Wyoming, the Wyoming Black Hills. In South Dakota,
the Northern Black Hills.
* WHEN…From 11 PM this evening to 5 PM MST Monday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on slippery road conditions. In
addition, areas of poor visibility are likely. Tree branches
could fall. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will cause areas
of blowing and drifting snow.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Winter Weather Advisory means snow, freezing precipitation,
winds, and cold temperatures will create hazardous conditions.
