…Heavy snow accumulation possible in the Sawtooth Recreation
Area above 7000 feet Thursday and Friday…
A storm system developing off the Pacific Northwest Coast will
bring snow, possibly heavy at times to the mountains of the
Sawtooth National Recreation Area above 7000 feet elevation,
beginning Thursday morning. This includes the mountains around Sun
Valley and Stanley, Idaho. Southerly winds ahead of this storm
system will favor the Sawtooth area, while potential for snow
accumulation in the rest of Southeastern Idaho is still uncertain.
Early indications suggest accumulation could be as much as a foot
of snow. Folks venturing into the backcountry Thursday and Friday
should stay informed of the latest storm developments.
