URGENT – WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

…WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MST THIS

EVENING…

* WHAT…Moderate snow will continue with areas of blowing and

drifting snow producing difficult travel conditions. Additional

snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected through early

this evening.

* WHERE…Upper Snake Highlands area including the Teton Valley,

Ashton and Raynolds Pass. US-20 north of Rexburg, US-33 east

of Sugar City and I-15 north of Dubois to the Montana border.

* WHEN…Until 9 PM MST this evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Winds gusting to 25 mph will cause areas of

blowing and drifting snow, especially over mountain passes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather

conditions are occurring. If you must travel, keep an extra

flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an

emergency. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling

5 1 1.

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS CANCELLED…

The threat of moderate snow has ended and thus the Winter Weather

Advisory has been cancelled for the remainder of today. Light

snow will continue to fall through early evening with upwards of

an inch of additional accumulation. Motorists traveling through

the Lost River area should be prepared for areas with blowing and

drifting snow and potentially difficult driving conditions.

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS CANCELLED…

The threat of moderate snow has ended and thus the Winter Weather

Advisory has been cancelled for the remainder of today. Light

snow will continue to fall through early evening with upwards of

an inch of additional accumulation possible over mountain passes.

blowing and drifting snow, especially over mountain passes.
