Game canceled, No. 16 Stanford women at Washington State

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — The women’s basketball game between No. 16 Stanford and Washington State scheduled for Sunday was canceled after the death of the Cougars’ director of strength and conditioning David Lang.

Lang, a longtime member of the athletics department, worked directly with the women’s basketball and men’s and women’s golf programs.

Stanford (20-9, 14-3) entered the day a game behind No. 8 Oregon for the Pac-12 Conference championship. The Ducks clinched their first regular-season title in 18 years with a 74-61 victory over Arizona, which is 11th in the conference, on Sunday.

Washington State (10-19, 3-14) is locked into the No. 10 seed for the Pac-12 Tournament, which begins on Wednesday.
