Cache County Sheriff’s Office puts the brakes on Demolition Derby

LOGAN — After recent years of decreasing support, the Cache County Sheriff’s Office has announced they will no longer host its annual demolition derby at the Cache County Fairgrounds. The summer event had help raise money for the Cache County Mounted Posse and Search & Rescue.

A press release from the Sheriff’s Office said the decision to cancel the derby was difficult. It also expressed appreciation to the drivers and fans that had made the event possible over the years.

While people continued to pack the fairgrounds for the summer event, the number of participants had fallen. Over the years, the amount of cars competing had decreased.

The release concluded, expressing appreciation to the community for supporting the derby through the years.
